Hello! I’m Rocio Vega.
Where design meets tech, I’ve found my passion in crafting user experiences that balance function with aesthetic integrity.
I thrive in the iterative process — from user research and strategy to prototyping, testing, and even a bit of coding. I make a point of understanding the needs, goals, and constraints of all stakeholders to ensure every solution aligns with user needs, business priorities, and technical realities.
Check out some of my work – I’d love to share what I’ve built.
Shop Monde
UX/UI REDESIGN OF A RETAIL AGGREGATOR WEBSITE
In collaboration with the founder of Shop Monde, I led the redesign of key parts of the live site, including the Search feature, Shop Now section, and Deals page. The goal was to improve usability and drive engagement across core user journeys.
When I joined the project, I began with a quick analysis of the entire site, reviewing user interactions and identifying any development constraints. This initial analysis allowed me to identify the most critical areas for improvement and recommend an order of design priorities. By aligning these priorities with both user needs and technical feasibility, I was able to guide the redesign process in a focused, strategic direction.
While I delivered high-fidelity screens in Figma, prototyping features were used minimally due to stakeholder unfamiliarity with interactive workflows. Nonetheless, I ensured clean developer handoff and clear annotations to support implementation, which is currently in progress.
This project highlights my ability to adapt to team dynamics while delivering user-focused design.

A DIGITAL SIGNAGE CMS — UX DESIGN CASE STUDY
A solo UX case study designing a more intuitive CMS for digital signage, tailored to small business users. Initially developed during a UX/UI course, the project was later expanded in collaboration with the AV company I worked for. I led the full process—from uncovering usability issues in existing platforms to prototyping a streamlined, user-friendly alternative. The outcome reflects real-world constraints and highlights how everyday users can manage complex signage systems with ease.

Bruno’s Best Friend
ONLINE DOG WALKING PLATFORM — UI DESIGN CASE STUDY
This solo project, completed as part of my UI Design course, involved creating a high-fidelity prototype for an online platform that connects dog owners with local walkers. Building on handover materials from a previous UX team and my own desk research into similar services, I focused on enhancing the search and selection experience for users.
The main emphasis was on the user journey for finding a walker, while other features were explored at a high level but not fully developed.

WordPress & Theme-Based Websites
A couple of responsive websites I designed & built using WordPress and premium templates.
Inspire Life Church
A vibrant, mobile-responsive WordPress site created for a multicultural faith community. Designed for clarity and ease of navigation, the site includes event promotion, embedded media, donation integration, and bilingual content support to engage both English and Spanish-speaking audiences.
My Spirited Child
A website revamp for an events-focused organisation that connects experts and learning resources with teachers, families, and caregivers of neurodivergent individuals. The site was fully rebuilt using WordPress and Kadence Blocks to simplify content management for administrators. Careful consideration was given to page structure and reusable layouts, ensuring the site is easy to update while presenting information to users in a clear, modern, and accessible way.
Wollahra Medical
A clean, responsive website for a suburban medical clinic, built using a custom theme within a limited time-frame
Lift Fit
Home page redesign & addition of new product page for Aritco Lifts. This involved customization of the WordPress theme for full mobile responsiveness and required extensive CSS programming to modernize the site and significantly improve usability across desktop and mobile.
Other Work
The link below highlights a selection of both small and large scale projects I’ve contributed to. While my graphic design skills are still developing, I’m actively working to strengthen this area in order to enhance the visual quality and aesthetic detail of my UI work.
